Experience summer at its best—concerts by NYC-based musicians on the Great Lawn while the sun sets over the Hudson River and Palisades, an expansive landscape of rolling lawns and gorgeous formal gardens, fresh river breezes and cutting-edge art in Glyndor Gallery. Wave Hill's answer to a superb summer lawn party, a half-hour from midtown!
Wave Hill’s new Performing Arts Curator, Ginger Dolden, brings a stunning and lively lineup to Wave Hill’s 2018 Sunset Wednesdays. Focusing on groups that have a “neotraditional” sense to their body of work, this series will connect genres and span generations while exploring sounds from around the world.
This year’s summer outdoor series will feature Western Swing (The Brian Cloud), Trad Jazz (The Hot Sardines), Balkan (Slavic Soul Party), Brazilian, Caribbean, African surf music (Smokey's Secret Family), Bluegrass/World (Phoebe Hunt and the Gatherers), Irish Folk (Mary Courtney and Morning Star) and Salsa—Aurora & Zon del Barrio as a part of Bronx Salsa Fest 2018.
Sunset Wednesdays take place rain or shine! All Sunset Wednesdays Concerts are held on the great lawn. In case of inclement weather concerts will be moved indoors to Armor Hall with overflow space in the Mark Twain Room and the covered terrace behind Wave Hill House.
The grounds are open until 8:30PM.
