5th Annual Westchester Winter Wonderland with Tree Lighting Celebration

Westchester's Winter Wonderland runs Friday, November 23 through Monday, December 31. This one-of-a-kind holiday experience features an exciting lineup of entertainment and activities for all ages, including the new FUNderland Village, the Santa Experience, unlimited skating on its outdoor ice rink, the Winter Wonderland Holiday Circus, nightly magic shows, favorite holiday rides, fantastic local food trucks and more. Proceeds from this event benefit WPF and allow the organization to further its mission to advocate for and invest in the preservation, conservation, use and enjoyment of the 18,000 acres of parks, trails and open spaces within the Westchester County Parks system.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer will join with Westchester Parks Foundation (WPF), and the Westchester County Parks Department at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla on Friday, November 23 to celebrate the opening of Westchester’s Winter Wonderland with the lighting of a 40-foot Christmas tree and the opening of FUNderland Village.  Thanks to the event’s presenting sponsor, Westchester Medical Center, Latimer and Westchester Parks Foundation will welcome a special child to help him light the tree, 7-year-old Yorktown Resident Liam Brady, a former patient at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital- a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network. At just 18 months of age, Liam’s right kidney was removed. Overworked and operating at a lower capacity, Liam's left kidney started to fail, and a transplant was needed to avoid a lifetime of dialysis or worse.  Thankfully, Liam’s cousin was a match and she donated her kidney this past August.
