Community Farm Work Day at Hilltop Hanover Farm

Join us for a Community Farm Work Day at Hilltop Hanover Farm! Spring Maintenance within the protected Trees for Tributaries area alongside the farm is key to ensuring healthy trees and a vibrant riparian ecosystem. During this Community Farm Work Day, volunteers will learn how to perform annual tasks such as checking and fixing tree supports, light pruning, and weed removal. Specific instructions and all supplies will be given at the start of the activity. Intensity will be light-moderate: volunteers must be able to lift a lightweight plastic tube above shoulder height, walk through uneven terrain, and use a rubber mallet/hammer.
Connect with fellow community members while making a positive impact on our local environment. Whether you're an experienced gardener or simply interested in learning more, there's a way for everyone to be involved.

Trees for Tribs is a statewide program that has been working to reforest and support plantings along tributaries (“tribs”), small creeks and streams that flow into larger rivers and lakes. The goal is to create or improve riparian (streamside) buffers that decrease erosion, reduce flooding damage, improve wildlife and stream habitat, and protect water quality, creating healthier, more climate-resilient communities.
