SugarFest 2021 at Westmoreland Sanctuary
Join us for the greenest event of the year!
100% Zero Waste – All material is composted on site.
The coming of spring brings Westmoreland’s 16th Annual Sugarfest!
This completely outdoor program is taught by our experienced Naturalists who will teach you about maple sugaring through the ages. We will explore the harvesting and processing techniques used by the Native Americans and early colonists. Please come relive what it was like to make maple syrup in the 1800s and learn about the biology behind it! Discover the internal and external factors that contribute to sap production unique to North American Sugar Maple Trees.
We’ll learn how to tap a tree and even have a COVID-safe taste-test ourselves to see if we can tell the difference between 100% maple syrup and imitation syrup!
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately.
Anyone who is an Adopt-a-Sugar Maple participant receives free admission. Learn More HERE.
