Apple Picking at Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm | What’s happening in Westchester

Apple Picking at Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm

Pick your own apples starts in September and runs through Columbus Day weekend.

The process for apple picking consists of parking in the designated field past the flag pole. Check in is at the Red Pavilion for bags, baskets, and picking poles (available for a small rental fee with a deposit). At this point you will be asked to pay for the minimum* quantity given your party size in order to enter the orchard.

Then your group may ride the hay wagon to this week’s picking orchard (the location of which changes weekly as different varieties ripen). Pick fruit and fill your bag or basket. Take a return wagon ride to the Red Pavilion to check-out and return the picking poles. Walking to and from the orchard is always permitted along the designated walking trail,  please come dressed for country orchards(closed-toed shoes & tall socks).

*The minimum to enter the orchard for every 2 adults is 1 peck bag of apples and the minimum to enter the orchard for every 3-4 adults is a 1/2 bushel bag of apples.
