This class will focus on the seasons as a theme for the projects we will work on.  The first project, "Branches Against the Sky", will begin with a session where we look at the prints of Hiroshige, a Japanese artist from two hundred years ago.  From this initial inspiration we will create multi-media works that will incorporate collage, sumi ink, and watercolor.  Other projects will follow this same approach; drawing inspiration from famous artists of the past as a springboard for projects that incorporate new media and introduce students to new processes and ideas.
