Rockland Center for the Arts will present the Literary Lions Series beginning October 14, 2018. The series is a Sunday afternoon discussion with Distinguished Authors of their latest books. This series will kick-off on October 14th with author James F. Simon discussing Eisenhower vs. Warren: The Battle for Civil Rights and Liberties.

James F. Simon offers a truly masterful telling of the complex relationship between two of the most influential and compelling figures in mid twentieth- century America. Exploring such fundamental issues as racial segregation and McCarthyism, Simon takes us beyond the scenes in the White House, the Congress, and the Supreme Court to reveal with extraordinary intimacy the conflicts, the compromises, and the antagonisms that shaped one of the most pivotal periods in American history.

James F. Simon is dean emeritus at New York Law School. He is the author of nine books on American history, law, and politics- two of them New York Times Notable Books- and has won the American Bar Association's Silver Gavel Award. He lives with his wife in West Nyack, New York.

Tickets are $10 per person (students, $5). To purchase tickets call 845-358-0877 or visit www.rocklandartcenter.org. Rockland Center for the Arts is located at 27 S. Greenbush Rd., West Nyack, NY. Regular hours are: Mon-Fri 10-4, Sat and Sun 1-4 pm.
