ONCE UPON A PASTIME is a lighthearted and touching story of triumph and redemption against all odds.
This musical portrays the life of Mac McCarty, a one-time great baseball prospect, from the early loss of his father to his own trials filling that role with his daughter Sandy. Following a career-ending injury, Mac and his childhood friend Shep open The Bullpen, a baseball-themed bar in Florida. They struggle but survive until a mysterious and menacing character, T.C. Washburn, ignites a series of events which threaten the bar’s very existence. However, the Baseball Gods of Mac’s imagination have been watching him for a long time. Mayhem ensues when the gods materialize and try to help Mac avert disaster. This musical provides a bundle of laughs and Bob Costas adds a comedic “play by play”.
