Teatown Presents: Native Bees in Your Backyard

*The event has already taken place on this date: Tue, 04/19/2016
Learn about native bees.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Most of the food we eat is the result of the endless labor of pollinators. Bees are designed for pollination, yet most of the 477 species of native pollen bees in New York go unnoticed. Tim Stanley, founder of Native Beeology, will reveal the hidden lives of our native pollen bees and bring much deserved attention to their importance in the ecosystem. Emphasis will be placed on creating habitat diversity within our backyards and gardens to attract these essential creatures. Learn to encourage and enjoy the ripple effect of their work throughout the environment.  Come explore the hidden world of our "Unstung Heroes"! Adults Only. Members Free, Non-members $7. Programs require pre-registration. To register, call 914-762-2912 x 110.
